"Do not neglect hospitality, for through it some have unknowingly entertained angels." ~Hebrews 13:2
Saint Joseph Parish is a vibrant and welcoming church and school community rooted in the Catholic faith. One seldom hears a parishioner speak of Saint Joseph Parish; it is “St. Joe.” This choice of name indicates the loving familiarity with which we regard our parish and its members.
At Saint Joseph, we have groups that meet regularly to build community for seniors, empty nesters, young adults, youth, and women of the parish. We have popular parish functions that draw us together throughout the year, such as our parish picnic, fish fry, chili cook-off, trivia night, and Saint Nick Six road race. We have life-giving ministries that assist in welcoming and caring for our community in important times: welcome brunches, funeral luncheons, meals ministry, prayer chain, and our St. Andre ministry to our homebound parishioners.
We need each other if we want to grow in faith. We need the witness of other brothers and sisters in Christ. We need to see the way they live out his word. What’s more, they need the same thing from us! And most importantly, we need their prayers and support.
Our parishioners often testify that active participation in parish functions, groups, and ministries is the best way to feel a sense of belonging here at St. Joe. It is also a wonderful way to ignite a journey of growing closer to God. We invite you to participate in ways you feel called!
The Community Life Commission of Saint Joseph Parish seeks to foster an environment of care and welcome in our faith community. Inspired by the bonds of charity and mutual concern that knit together the Holy Family and the early Christian Church, the Community Life Commission offers events and programs that encourage fellowship among parishioners, supports people in times of difficulty or need, and works to sustain and nurture the spirit of hospitality that is a hallmark of Saint Joseph Parish.
Through these efforts, and with the desire to build connections to the surrounding community as well, the Community Life Commission seeks to make the warmth of the Saint Joseph Parish family a sign of our deep commitment to build up the Body of Christ in love, and to see the Lord Jesus in all whom we meet.
Let us get you connected into the parish! Contact our Director of Stewardship if you are interested in learning about opportunities to participate in the community life and many ministries of our parish.
