Funeral Masses

Please contact the Parish Center at 574-234-3134 to speak with our Pastor or our Parochial Vicar if you would like to arrange a Funeral Liturgy at Saint Joseph Church. Rites include vigil, funeral liturgy, and committal. We will provide a time for you to meet with one of our priests and our Director of Music & Liturgy who will help you plan the funeral liturgy. Saint Joseph Church also offers the option of a luncheon service, provided for the family of deceased parishioners, at the Parish Center after the liturgy.

Funeral Resources

“Lord, for your faithful people, life is changed not ended.”

This line from the Eucharistic Prayer at funerals is one of hope and comfort. While mourning the loss of our brothers and sisters in Christ, we also honor the life of the person who has gone before us in faith. We must remember the promise of Christ that all who believe in him will not die, but will live forever in the peace of heaven. “Lord, for your faithful people, life is changed not ended.” The faithful departed have gone from this world to the next. Their lives have not ended—their lives in perfect communion with God have only just begun! Let us rejoice in the Lord who has called our brothers and sisters home.

It is our hope that parishioners can use the following resources to assist them in the planning of a Catholic funeral. If you have any questions, please contact the parish office at (574) 234-3134.
