The 2024 Annual Bishop's Appeal is underway. Thank you to those who have already made gifts. If you have not yet made a pledge, we hope you will join other Saint Joseph parishioners in taking time to do so today.

Thank you for giving from the heart so that the many great ministries of our diocese can continue to be funded. Funds over our diocesan goal will be returned to our parish to directly support our ministries here.

Creating a New Pastoral & Strategic Plan

We are now at the stage of creating our new Pastoral & Strategic Plan where we seek to gather input from our parishioners! We are planning several listening sessions and, for two of these, we are initiating an open call for volunteers to participate. These listening sessions will take place at the Ackles Parish Life Center on the following dates: Saturday, October 26, 10:00 AM & Tuesday, November 5, 6:30 PM.

From the volunteer submissions we receive, we will select a limited number of participants in order to have fruitful conversation amongst a diversified cross-section of parishioners. Thank you for your participation and prayers as we seek, with God’s help, to build up Saint Joseph Parish as an even brighter example of His kingdom on earth.

Contemplating the Mysteries of the Rosary

All are invited to join for a time of faith sharing and prayer with the mysteries of the rosary. Beginning on Monday, October 7 (feast of Our Lady of the Rosary), we will gather 8:15-9:15am in the Holy Cross Room of the Ackles Parish Center. We will meet for five consecutive Mondays until November 4.

Each week will focus on one of the Joyful Mysteries, and we will begin with a reflection led by parishioner Shirley Juare, following the book The Contemplative Rosary with St. John Paul II and St. Teresa of Avila by Dan Burke and Connie Rossini. We will then have time to share and pray the rosary together. All necessary resources will be provided. All are welcome; no RSVP needed.

Diaper Drive

Our Walking with Moms in Need ministry is hosting a Diaper Drive for the month of October to help fill our St. Vincent de Paul diaper bank. Drop off diapers in the crib in the back of the church. Bring diaper sizes 1, 2, 3 if your last name begins with letters A-L; bring sizes 4, 5, 6 if your last name starts with M-Z. Or you can donate money for diapers using our online form! Email us at walkingwithmoms@stjoeparish.com to get involved with other volunteer opportunities.

The annual Saint Nick Six road race takes place Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Saint Joseph Church & School in South Bend. Events: 6K Run, 3K Run, 3K Walk, and the Run, Run Rudolph .06K (1st grade and younger). All proceeds support our parish school. View all the details & sign up here!

Eucharistic Adoration

Thank you to everyone who has been committed to making the beautiful ministry of Eucharistic Adoration available in the church on Thursdays from 7:30am to 9:00pm.

As we now journey together through this Year of Eucharistic Mission, we are called to renew our mission to carry the Presence of Christ forth into our families, our community, and our world. We find the strength to do this in the beautiful gift of the Eucharist, and so now more than ever we invite you to consider entering into the ministry of serving as an Adoration Apostle for this academic year. We encourage everyone to prayerfully discern being an Apostle for one of our 30- or 60-minute time blocks, but if you would like to just be on our substitute list then please complete this substitute form. "Walk with One" Campaign

We are all called to evangelize, and thanks to the gift of the Holy Spirit, we are well-equipped for this mission. It may not mean spreading the Gospel in a foreign land or going door-to-door with the Good News—and it may require overcoming some fears—but the Lord is asking each of us to step out of our comfort zone and evangelize one-on-one.

There is someone in your life right now whom Jesus longs to call to himself. He wants to spark a relationship with them and bless them with his sacraments. In this Year of Mission, Catholics across the U.S. are saying “yes” to a special form of heart-to-heart accompaniment called the Walk With One initiative. This is your opportunity to be God’s instrument in the life of another person. Imagine how our families, neighborhoods, and country will be transformed if every active Catholic answers this call!
