MINISTRY OF MOTHERS (MOMs Group)
The Saint Joseph Parish Ministry of Mothers (MOMs) aims to bring mothers together to get to know each other better, join in fellowship and discuss a variety of topics pertaining to family and spiritual life.
During the school year we host four daytime gatherings with children and our Prayer on the Porch (POTP) evening gatherings once a month. Children are welcome for the daytime activities. Evening gatherings are just for moms (and babes in arms). Because we know how busy life can be, we welcome everyone as individual schedules allow. Please come when you can and bring a friend - all are welcome!
HOW TO GET INVOLVED
Parishioners are invited to attend any of these events.
You can volunteer to "lead" a daytime activity that is good for mothers and children. For example, a cooking, craft or other activity. Please reach out to Molly Buser with ideas of talents you have and would like to share with other mothers.
For Prayer on the Porch, we have a hostess and a reflector each month. If you would like to host a Prayer on the Porch in your home (no porch necessary!), we would love to hear from you. The reflector chooses a topic to discuss for 15-20 minutes with the group. It can be anything from a prayer or poem to a personal experience. If you would like to help host or reflect for Prayer on the Porch, please contact Stacey McConnell.
Lastly, we are looking for fresh leaders to help with the Mom’s group in 2014-2015. Leaders meet in late summer/early fall when we plan the upcoming year’s activities. Please reach out if interested.
