Through the waters of new life, we welcome new members into our community with great joy. As we celebrate the Sacrament of Baptism, we recall the saving power of Christ over sin and death, and the joy that Christian mothers and fathers share as they initiate their child into our Catholic faith.
As a way to recognize this great event, we have a festive gathering of pastries and punch at the back of Church following the baptism. Volunteers bring in home-made goodies and baptismal reception coordinators set-up, make preparations, and clean-up at the end of the celebration.
Baptismal bakers are on a several-month rotation and might only be called up once or twice a year to bake for these receptions. They are asked to bring in two-dozen cookies, treats, pastries (or whatever!) when they are contacted via email by the baptismal coordinator.
Currently, there are four baptismal reception coordinators: Marita Connor, Lesley Kirzeder, Margie Anella, and Michelle Egan.
