Footsteps:
A Journey into Catholic Social Teaching
Tuesdays, 7:00 PM in the Upper Room*
What is "Footsteps?"
"Footsteps" is a survey of Catholic Social Teaching that educates and empowers parishioners to develop a passion for justice in their lives through seminars, guest-speakers, and hands-on learning. Interested parties may participate all year long or attend only those months that interest them. Meetings which include guest speakers or films are open to anyone, even if they are not group members.
*The Upper Room (above the church sacristy) is entered through the back of the church off the parking lot. Look for the signs! Getting to the Upper Room requires climbing stairs. If the stairs would prevent you from attending, please inform the facilitator, who will investigate alternative arrangements.
For more information about Footsteps, contact the program coordinator - Ms. Cinnamon Sarver - at csarver@stjoeparish.com or 574-232-2374.

Schedule of Upcoming Meetings: |
March Theme: Social Teaching & the Eucharist
Tues. March 3, 7pm. Fr. Dan Groody, CSC: the Eucharist and Immigration
Come and view Fr. Groody's latest documentary, One Border, One Body, which tells the story of how the Mass unites people across political lines, especially as it is celebrated yearly at the U.S.-Mexico border with a sixteen-foot fence dividing the congregation (oneborderonebody.nd.edu).
Fr. Groody will then lead a discussion on the connections between migration and the Eucharist. If possible, see his article (in PDF form), "Fruit of the Vine, Work of Human Hands: Immigration and the Eucharist," to familiarize yourself with the topic prior to his presentation.
